My story

My journey of jewelry making began when I was 12 years old. My friends and I would take the bus to a bead shop in Laguna Beach and spend the day making bracelets and necklaces. When I was a junior in high school, I turned this jewelry making hobby into a business and was making a nice little profit from it. 

Then the reality of college and my career path became the forefront of my thoughts so I put away my beads and ended up getting my degree in communications. Shortly after graduating from college, I took a silversmith class and briefly toyed with the idea of getting back into jewelry making. It was a defining moment as to what path I wanted to go on. Needless to say, I choose my filmmaking/photography career. 

Fast forward to pandemic times. I had started a photography business in Napa, CA that was doing well but all a sudden it came to a screeching halt (due to California being shut down for the majority of the year).

With the time on my hands, I decided to get back into jewelry making. This idea, Word Forward, came to me because I am a believer that inspirational thoughts can guide us out of hard or dark times. I believe in the power and intention of words and feel that when you focus your thoughts on a word, you do generate and are guided by that words meaning.
